Buenos Aires Tour – March 2009

Buenos Aires Querido!

Beloved Buenos Aires!

 

We were very fortunate to be able to join this tour with Fabian and Karina in March 2009. We were all from either Hobart or Sydney and were met by Fabian and Karina in B.A.

Their foresight and local knowledge (after all they grew up in B.A.) made it for me, a person who usually is not overly fond of "organized tours", a memory I shall never forget. We were treated to top-professional Tango teachers and classes which we attended most days. Aurora, Patricia and Gustavo were wonderful and reinforced everything Fabian and Karina are teaching us! (We just need to remember!!)

 

   
  Most nights we were then taken to various B.A. Milongas in diverse settings and locations. From the gorgeous Confiteria Ideal to an indoor sports/basketball setting all with snacks and wonderful Argentinean wine! We danced the nights away feeling more confident and less nervous and foreign as the nights went by! Some of the groups were even being asked to dance by Argentinean gentlemen!!

 

I have to write this in capitals: IT WAS AN UNFORGETTABLE EXPERIENCE! 

 
 

 

In between the dance classes and Milongas we explored separately or in small groups everything else that this unbelievable city has to offer.

Fabian and Karina also took us shoe-shopping! What an experience that was....we believe some people hit the record of 7 (or more?) pairs of shoes. The men as much as the women!

We also wined and dined with Karina and Fabian! We visited the Recoleta cemetery and ate Choripan by the Rio de la Plata.

  
 
    
 
   

We also went to "the country" We had a delightful day at an Estancia (farm) about 1hour's drive from B.A.

Fabian and Karina generously included us and made us feel totally at home in this mad, gorgeous and never resting city of 13 million!

Buenos Aires' energy lifts you up and when returning to wherever you live you will never be the same person again.

 

Thank you from my heart, Fabian and Karina! God willing we will be there in March 2010!
